Desktop Pub Event

Desktop pub is an exciting new project that will document the traditions of some of the most historic pubs in Liverpool. We aim to involve the regulars and locals, in bringing the past alive through photo archives, oral histories and presentations in pubs around the city.

The project is being run by the Innovations Factory's Dingle online Centre and The Everton development trust.

The most recent Desktop Pub event was held on Thursday April 28th at the Pineapple Hotel Park Road. Guests and regulars enjoyed a presentation and a buffet was provided afterward.

ILMs receive Website design award

After many months of hard work on their websites this happy group of ILMs pick up an accredited and nationally recognised Webmaster Award

The ILMs (Intermediate Labour Market) are based at the Innovations Factory and have been involved in a program that gives them skills in both business and Social Enterprise. Job placement opportunities are also offered. The students where taught webdesign skills as part of the program.

A few in the group had a little experience in webpage design but for the majority it was there first time. After only a few months they had learned how to create a webpages using HTML code and Javascript.

Paul Oultons (pictured below with his award) newly acquired skills helped him to create a site dedicated to Liverpool's own Liverbird. Paul has collected a large number of rare Liverbird photographs over a number of years and plans to show most of them on his site.
